ZL50裝載機一般都裝配單級3元件液力變矩器。這種變矩器通常由泵輪，渦輪，導輪組成。導輪通過彈性板與發動機飛輪連成一體，同速同項旋轉。發動機高速旋轉迫使油液沿葉片間通道向外切向甩出以極大的速度和沖力沖擊渦輪葉片。渦輪外沿的葉片接受來自泵輪甩出的工作油液沖擊之後，渦輪遍產生旋轉，同時內沿接受流出高速油液沖擊在固定不動的導輪上的反作用力。實際上渦輪在兩個力的作用下旋轉，所以增大啦輸出扭矩。也就是說來自泵輪油液的動能又轉換為渦輪旋轉的輸出機械能。
